The twin engine aircraft departed Willison Airport, Florida, at 1401LT bound for New Castle, Indiana, with four passengers and one pilot on board. Almost an hour into the flight, while cruising at an altitude of 25,000 feet, the aircraft entered a right turn then control was lost. While descending, the aircraft lost several pieces (wing parts) and caught fire before crashing in a wooded area located 6 miles northeast of Eatonton, bursting into flames. All five occupants were killed. They were on their way to funeral in Indiana.
